Pibble Cottage and Mark Cottage are situated eight miles from the village of Gatehouse of Fleet and three miles from Creetown on the scenic Solway coastline of Dumfries & Galloway. They are situated within 1000 acres of tranquility of Mark Farm - a family-run working farm rearing sheep and cattle including the largest herd of the famous Belted Galloway in Scotland.
Mark Farm borders Britian's largest forest park, Galloway Forest - three hundred square miles of outstanding wild beauty just waiting to be explored by hikes, mountain biking trails and gentle walks, making Pibble and Mark Cottages the perfect base in which to explore this picturesque region and to participate in the many activities it has to offer such as bird watching, biking, stalking, shooting, fishing and walking.
As the cottages are close to the two of the world class 7 Stanes mountain bike centres at Kirroughtree and Glentrool, this is ideal accommodation for mountain bikers throughout the year.
Galloway Forest Park has been nominated as a "Dark Sky Park". Step outside on a perfect clear night and gaze at the spectacular night skies with countless stars and the bright band of the Milky Way to be seen.
Dogs are welcome at no extra charge as long as they are well behaved in the cottage and that they do not disturb the farm stock or wildlife on the farm.
